Xyron and Paper House 'The Great Outdoors' Blog Hop
Getting back to nature this week with Xyron and Paper House. I love this new collection and wanted to create a seasonal home decor piece so I made an Autumnal wall plaque.
Supplies
We R Memory Keepers Crop a Dile and Eyelets
Crafter's Companion Kraft Card
Embossallicious A4 Tumbling Leaves Folder
Blank Plaque
Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Twine
How it's Made
Lay blank plaque on the Kraft Card and measure approximately 1/2" border and cut.
I wanted to change the texture of the Kraft Card and give it an old leather texture so I used an amazing technique by Sheena Douglass for altering Kraft Card and here is the link to see how Sheena does it.
Emboss while still damp, this will squeeze out a lot of the moisture.
Rub across the surface with the ink pad
Rub and distress the edges and allow to dry, you can the spray a lacquer or varnish over the surface to complete the faux leather look but I decided I wanted a natural look so left it out.
Uce the plaque to measure and cut out the grass layer
Ink the edges, distress, punch and add eyelets
Using the twine thread it through the eyelets
Add the stickers
I had some natural tree bark hearts and used these with the foam pads and 3d stickers.
To assemble use the Xyron High Tack Tape to add all the layers to the plaque.
Start with the Kraft Card Mat
Next the top layer
Finished !
