Xyron and Paper House 'Travel The World Co-Hop'

Welcome to Ireland !!, I hope you are having fun traveling the world with Xyron and Paper House.  I was so excited when I saw my hop kit.  Paper House collections are a must have in your stash and with Xyron there is no end to the creative possibilities.

I have made a greetings card and  upcycled and old necklace holder to make an Irish Dancing costume.  I have a mini tutorial for the dress, I didn't make a pattern but I worked with the paper and formed it as I went along, I hope some of the tips will help you with similar projects.

Irish Dancing

Supplies Used

Xyron 3" Sticker Maker
Teresa Collins Clear Hold Adhesive
Paper House 'British Prep' 12 x 12 Pad
Paper House 3D Ireland Stickers
Paper House Ireland Cardstock Stickers
Embossalicious A4 'Cable Knit' Folder
Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle
Silhouette Cameo
Pebeo Gilding Wax
Irish Dancer Stamp
Gems

How it's made!

I stripped the felt from the dress form and gave it a light sanding and painted the stand.

Once the paint was dry I used some Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle to give it a fab sparkly lacquered finish.

OK this is where it was all trial and error !, I cut the paper and folded pleats at a slight angle into them so that when glued to the form they would fan out.

I used the Xyron Double Sided Tape to join the ends to join together later when added to the form.

I measured the front of all the pleats and cut pieces of the green leaf paper to size and ran them all through the Xyron 3" Sticker Maker ready for assembly.

Put the base paper in place and use the green patterned top layer to cover the paper joins, I was pleased with how this turned out and (Phew!)

For the top portion I wrapped strips of Xyron Double Sided tape around the form and then placed a gold base piece of paper to the bust, ready for covering in paper to match the skirt panels. I also placed a length of 1"gold ribbon around the waist.

To cover the front I cut a rectangular piece of green leaf paper and molded it to the front shape forming creases before marking the front cut out.  I added extra tape to the inside and cut out the front V shape.

I applied the paper to the front and cut away the excess from under the arms down to the skirt ant the across the shoulders.. I repeated the process for the back panel, ensuring that the joins meet under the arms and across the shoulders.

To add the gold trim use the Teresa Collins adhesive.

The collar pieces are layered using the Xyron 1.5" Create a Sticker.

Glue the collar in place.

The slieeves are simply cone shaped paper cut at an angle and glued to the arm holes, decorate with simple cuffs and more gold trim.

The Celtic decoration is cut using gold vinyl using the Silhouette Cameo and Silhouette Studio Library designs mixed together.  Add gems !

Decorate the base using the Paperhouse Ireland Stickers and some die cuts.
