Xyron, Graphic 45 and Petaloo Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to this exciting Blog Hop.  Xyron, Graphic 45 and Petaloo have come together to bring you some amazing inspirations and products.  It's no secret that I'm totally ADDICTED to Graphic 45 and Petaloo and when I heard that Xyron was partnering for a hop it was like all my Christmases had come at once.  So today I have taken a thrift shop box and made a Steampunk Spells faux book box with tutorial, a wall plaque with tutorial and a Halloween Card all complimented using the Petaloo Spring Darjeeling Collection

All this week the Xyron DT will be sharing some unbelievable projects with you so make sure to visit the Xyron Blog and Xyron Facebook everyday and you could pick up some fabulous goodies !

My Three Projects

STEMPUNK SPELL SPELLBOOK

Products Used

Xyron:
Xyron Creatopia with Permanent Adhesive

Graphic 45:

Petaloo Darjelling Collection Flowers:

Ranger Liquid Onyx Pearls

How it's made!

I stripped back the old canvas from the box but left behind the ribbed paper around the front and painted it silver and distressed it with some black ink on a dry brush,

I mixed some black poster paint with a little PVA glue and painted the inside rim and edges.

I ran the Fancifil Floral 4500681 through the Xyron Creatopia, this will be the back cover and spine of the box.

Wrap around the back and spine leaving a 1/2" for trimming away

Trim away the excess using a craft knife

Ink the edges to blend in the paper

For the front cover, trim a 12x12 sheet of Steampunk Spells 4500680 to fit, keep the cut off as the border and stamps pattern will be cut out and used as decoupage on the front.

Run the cover piece through the Xyron Creatopia and put in place.

Ink the edges to blend in

On the facing of the faux pages add the Metal Lock

Add the border print and cut out flowers from the cover left over scrap and adhere using the DIY Foam Pads, follow this link to see Beth Kingston show you how to make your own!.

Cut out the Balloons from Pumpkin Power 4500688 and decoupage onto the cover.

Decorate using metal embellishments and elements from Steampunk Spells Banners 4500695 and Petaloo Darjeeling Mini Daisies, Dahlia's, and some black tuile. Use Xyron Double Sided High Tack Tape on the back of the Flowers.

Use the  Steampunk Spells Flowers 4500696 to make dramatic
co-ordinated embellishments.

I used Ranger Liquid Pearls on the front and rubbed some on the edges of the book to distress

Distress all the flowers using the Liquid pearls and a soft brush

Cover the inside using the Clockworks 4500682 and Mechanical Marvels 4500684
